Coverage of the convention began on Friday, July 28 with WHYY-FM's Radio Times broadcasting from 10 a.m. to noon live from "Radio Talk Show Row," the broadcast facility set up in the parking lot of the First Union Center. Through the final day of the convention on Thursday, August 3, Marty Moss-Coane will interview prominent players, city officials, protest leaders, explore various stories related to the event and examine the effect the convention will have on Philadelphia's economy and perception as a destination city.
WHYY-FM reporters Bill Fantini, Martin Wells, Julia Barton, Peter Clowney, Dave Heller, Eugene Sonn and Mhari Saito will provide information from the GOP assembly and will look at the impact it has on Philadelphia's economy and image. Their reports will be broadcast nationally on Morning Edition and All Things Considered.
