Gay Youth - Part of WHYY's special programming for Gay Pride Month

In 1997, Jim Wheeler, a gay teen from rural Pennsylvania committed suicide. He was open about his sexuality, and a constant target of taunts and assaults. Jim Wheeler's story inspired three young gay men to document the lives of gay youth across the country.We'll hear from Jim Wheeler's mother and the three young documentary film makers. HIPAA - Your Health Records and Your Privacy

If you've been at a doctor's office lately, you signed a piece of paper with the letters H-I-P-A-A on it. Did you read it - or just sign it? HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act - and was designed in part to increase the efficiency of transmitting health care records. A new lawsuit charges that health records can now be disclosed without the patients' consent. We'll discuss HIPAA and its effects on the next Voices in the Family. Dan Gottlieb's guest is attorney Jim Pyles, who represents the people and organizations who filed the law suit.
