Welcome to WHYY's Listening Booth. Back in the 78 rpm days, a customer could spend a whole afternoon in a listening booth at a record shop. This practice continued in to the 1950's and 60's, and we want to bring it back on whyy.org. So break out those speakers (or headphones) and check out some Public Radio programs we've featured on WHYY-FM.

What Would Rob Do? NPR's Rob Sachs talks about life's sticky situations and daily indignities and how turn them into an opportunity for adventure, growth, or at the very least, laughter. For more information about Rob check out his website whatwouldrobdo.com and if you have a question or comment send him an email rob@whatwouldrobdo.com Check out the podcast and subsribe to it »

John Lennon: Gimme Some Truth – A 70th Birthday Celebration
A one-hour radio program featuring an exclusive interview with Yoko Ono and the premiere of songs from the newly-remastered Lennon catalogue, as well as tracks from the new Double Fantasy Stripped Down mix produced by Yoko Ono and Jack Douglas.

The brand new conversation with Ono - conducted recently in New York City by Jody Denberg – is an intimate and revealing one. Yoko speaks about many facets of the new Lennon releases, gives her thoughts on “Imagine,” “Whatever Gets You Through The Night” and other Lennon classics, and confides candidly about the couple’s relationship and musical partnership.

Newly remastered songs in the show include, in their entirety: "Gimme Some Truth," "Power To The People," "(Just Like) Starting Over (Stripped Down)," "Woman (Stripped Down)," "Mother," and "Give Peace A Chance."
