Hot or Chilled Healthy Spiced Punch

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup or mixture of strawberry and banana juice
  • 4 cups low-sugar cranberry juice
  • 4 each whole allspice
  • 4 bags green tea
  • zest of 1 lime
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/3 cup dried figs, roughly chopped
  • 1/3 cup diced apricots, roughly chopped
  • 2 T sugar, sugar substitute or honey

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in large saucepan. Slowly cook mixture over medium low heat for one hour. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 30 minutes. Strain through a fine strainer and throw out solids.

For an ice cold refreshing drink, chill and serve over ice mixed half and half with club soda. Garnish with a mint sprig.

For a warm punch, heat mixture and pour into mug garnished with cinnamon stick. Makes about 8 servings
