Here at Chef's Table, we're all about summer parties! On today's show, we'll find out how to grill the Asian way with condiments, kebobs and even breads. Then a visit with a cookbook author/banjo player for some tips to make marinades, rubs and glazes. When the summer heats up, real women eat chiles. Summer pastimes....why is it that simple pleasures are the best this time of year? Maybe it's the childhood memories of camp, or a country visit to Grandma and Grandpa. We talk to a champion Cherry Pit Spitter and have a little competition of our own. Make a perfect pie crust and a frosty glass of tea. Our guests include John T. Edge waxing poetic about donuts and Priscilla Martel getting nutty over nuts. Later, we discover what food choices can reveal about our dates.

Some worthy things just have bad reputation.... on today's show we re-evaluate bad reputation stories: pig pens are a mess; tequila gives you a killer hangover; and tofu tastes like nothing.Often, you can often make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. For instance, Sy Montgomery talks about her amazing pet pig. Mr. Cutlets talks about a pig of whole other kind - a smuggled ham. Taste a fine Tequila made with classical music, discover organic hot dogs, and a trip to our archives for an interview with the original bad boy chef, Anthony Bourdain.
