What to do for Valentine's Day? Sure, you can go out to a restaurant, but how about a more creative way to spend this special day? Rent a great romantic movie, and set the scene by preparing delicious food that goes with the film. We'll pair movies and meals with Francine Segan, author of "Movie Menus." Later in the show we'll make sure Cupid's arrow hits the mark with suggestions for caviar and champagne. And for a really special gift to go with that bottle of bubbly, we'll talk to someone who custom designs wine cellars. Finally, we'll get the latest news from the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and give you some tips to make a special Valentine's Dinner.

Are ready for the cold and snow to disappear as quickly as your New Year's resolutions? How about curing the winter blues by trying something new? We'll hear from beer expert Jim Anderson, who packed up his family and started a restaurant in Scotland. Small things help bring excitement back into your every day life; like mastering a new cooking skill. We'll learn how to make sushi, try eating raw foods only, and jump on the low-carb craze. Later on the show: February means Carnival. We'll hear about the colorful Brazilian festival that celebrates costumes, music and food. Let's face it, watching the Oscars can be pretty boring. All those commercials, the long thank you speeches, but we don't want to miss it, either! So how about having an Oscar party? That way, you can hang out with your friends and have a good time during the boring parts of the award ceremony! We'll suggest glamorous drinks, and ideas for pairing movies with meals. Jim's guests are Francine Segan, author of "Movie Menus" and James Waller, who has written "Drinkology." February is also heart-health month, so we'll talk to a cardiologist about improving our diet, and plan healthy make-overs for every day dishes.

Food has a story to tell. What we eat, and how we prepare it reflects our history; exploration, wars, immigration, and travel. We'll hear from two sisters who traced their family history by looking through the family recipe box. Norma Jean and Carole Darden join us from New York City to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their book "Spoonbread and Strawberry Wine." We'll also talk to chef Scott Peacock who is preserving the culinary legacy of the first lady of Southern cooking, Edna Lewis. Later on the show we'll find out why Tupperware was not just a new way to store food, it was a significant social force in the sixties. Finally, we'll hear from the executive producer of Philadelphia's "The Book and the Cook" festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
