Meriwether Lewis and William Clark - their names make you think of exploration and the Wild West. On their quest for the Northwest Passage food was a major concern. We'll visit an exhibit at Philadelphia's famous Mutter Museum, which brings the incredible adventure to life. We'll find out what the explorers ate along their journey, and what foods they discovered. We'll also hear about a cookbook that was inspired by Lewis and Clark's voyage and the ingredients that were popular during their time. Later on, we'll go wild with recipes for game and talk to Diana Kennedy - she has been called the high priestess of Mexican Cuisine! Her new book is "From My Mexican Kitchen."

Nothing can trigger memory like food. Perhaps that is why memoirs with recipes have become so popular. We'll hear from three authors who bring their stories and favorite food memories to the table. Shoba Narayan recalls growing up as a Hindu in India, and the culture shock of coming to America. Her new book is "Monsoon Diary." Later, we'll escape to the Maine seashore with restaurateur Rebbeca Charles. Three generations of her family spent summers in Kennebunkport eating old-fashioned shore dinners. Rebecca has written "Lobster Rolls and Blueberry Pie." Finally, we'll hear from chef Scott Peacock who planned to study in Europe until he met Edna Lewis, an icon of Southern cookery. She convinced him to stick with his roots and the two have written "The Gift of Southern Cooking."

We constantly hear about seafood and fish that's endangered. And as it turns out, farm raising fish isn't an easy answer either. So what seafood can we still buy with a good conscience? Jim's guest is Carol Baldwin, a marine biologist at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. She has written "One Fish, Two Fish, Crawfish, Bluefish - A Sustainable Seafood Cookbook. " We'll also talk about the science behind cooking - journalist Russ Parsons talks about his book "How to Read a French Fry," which combines his scientific observations with great recipes and tips. Later, we'll find out how the Mayans gave us the gift of chocolate. And since we already got the chocolate out, we'll find out if it's possible to pair this treat with wine!

We'll talk to David George Gordon, author of "Eat a Bug." We'll also dish up some murder and mayhem with culinary mystery author Diane Mott Davidson. She's written "Chopping Spree," and "Sticks and Scones." Finally, we'll discover how one chef has combined very different culinary influences into an amazing style of cooking. Acclaimed chef Marcus Samuelsson joins us to discuss his Ethiopian roots, Swedish upbringing and American discoveries. He has written "Aquavit."
