1985: WHYY broadcasts five weeks of MOVE hearings

home, killing 11 people inside and starting a blaze that destroyed 61 homes.

One week later, then-Mayor Wilson Goode appointed the Philadelphia Special Investigation Commission to investigate the details of the attack on MOVE. The Commission held five weeks of public hearings in WHYY's Forum Theatre, which were aired in their entirety on WHYY 91FM and TV12 -- the only broadcaster to do so.
